  About The Township Beach

The Chikaming Township beach at Union Pier, Michigan has beach access rights for local property owners. Beach rights for guests is by permission of property owners. So that this township beach remains open to the public, we ask our guests to observe the park rules:

Park Rules:
No alcoholic beverages, camp fires, or overnight camping allowed. NO DOGS allowed. There are no lifeguards on duty.

There is no public access ramp for boats or jet ski vehicles, public restrooms or concessions at beach site. There is no parking lot, and there is minimal street parking near beach entrance.

Friendly Advice:
Do not park bicycles, strollers, wagons at beach entrance. They may not be there when you return. (Unfortunately, some passers-by conveniently assume that items left at the entrance are "abandoned"). Bring these items to your beach site where they can be watched.

(We're in Berrien County)
Union Pier Summer House is 6 miles south of Warren Dunes State Park (Sawyer MI). Just follow Red Arrow Hwy, north 6 miles. State Park entrances is across the road from the Warren Dunes Motel.

Our Township Beach is a very nice sandy swimming beach where children can play and couples can enjoy glorious sunsets.

Township Beach entrance, located at cross streets of Berrien & Lakeshore Rd., is not well marked. Look for the break in the fence to the left of the fire hydrant. The entrance is a gradual sandy slope to the water's edge, with no steep stairs to climb.
