We are a "Value Based" establishment,
offering standard, well maintained and clean accommodations
for the best value and price near Lake Michigan. More about

| How Large Are Your Units? |
Union
Pier Summer House is one large facility with six separate
rental suites. Being close to the Lake, space was at a premium
when the facility was built after the turn of the century.
Living rooms are about 12 x 12 and the larger bedrooms are
9 x 12. Go to our Floor Plan page for actual sq. footage. |
When do you offer
Weekly Rentals? |
We book only full week rentals during the
months of July and August. Weekly rates are structured
on a Calendar week, check-in on Sunday, check-out
on Saturday, 6 nights, checking out on the 7th day. |
When do you offer
Week-end Getaways? Can
we book just one night? |
Weekend getaways are primarily available during
the Off-Season (Sept thru May) A two-night minimum
stay is required. One night stays may be considered,
only if we have a vacancy on short notice (2-3 days
prior). We will offer weekend stays in June where available.
July & August are reserved for full week stays, however
we may have a last minute cancellation and we can offer a
partial week or weekend stay during these months on short
notice basis. |

No.
We are not an Inn or B&B. Our rental suites are
rented on the same basis as a self sufficient furnished vacation
condo or apartment. |

Yes.
Minimum stay must be 2 nights at posted season rates. Cannot
be exchanged for cash or other special offers. Reservation
must be booked within 6 months of date issued. Reservations
based on availability. |

We're located on a tree lined residential, well maintained
quiet street, not in a high traffic area, with residential
homes, Inns and b&b's nearby. |

many 1st floor units? How many 2nd floor units? |
We
have three 1-bedrm, and one 2-bedrm suites on the main floor.
There are two 2-bedroom (adjoining) suites on the second floor.

| What
about noise/privacy? |
Each
suite has is own private entrance, a private bathroom, and
galley kitchen. Normal voice conversation does not transmit
through walls. Children should refrain from running, jumping,
slamming doors, etc. while indoors. |
| Is
your place clean and well maintained? |
Yes!
We take pride in a tidy well maintained facility. All units
are tediously cleaned and sanitized between stays. |
| Do
you provide toiletries? |
We
provide "starter" supply of toilet paper, bar soap,
and dish soap. We do not provide paper towels & napkins |
| Do
you have high ceilings? |
Ceilings are not higher than 8 feet. |
| How
is your place decorated? |

| Parking? |
There is parking directly in front of our building. Please
angle park up to front hedge. We cannot accommodate parking
for RV's, Boats, or Trailers. Visitors not booked as guest
must park across the street to allow reserved parking for
our guests. We have approx 8 parking spots. |
| Do you book
large groups and offer group discounts? |
Yes, we can
book large groups up to 22, except during the months of July
& August.
Due to high rental demand in our area during the Summer season
we do not offer group discounts. We do, however offer our
Internet Discount. Our rates are discounted
during the Off-Season |
| Do
you have BBQ grilles? |
Yes,
3 small commercial grade charcoal grilles and one large institutional
size grill for large parties. Bring your own charcoal &
lighter fluid. |
| Do you have
phones? |
No. However
suites are wired with phone jacks. During long stays, guests
can arrange service with the phone company at their own expense.
There are public phones at the corner store and restaurant
200 yards from us. There is good reception from nearby towers
if you bring your cell phone. |

| Do
you have a roll-away bed? |
No.
The only accommodation we have for an extra person are sofa

you allow children? |
Yes,
families with children are welcomed! We ask that parents monitor
their children while on the premises. Note, we do not
provide baby sitting service. |

For
health, safety, and liability concerns we do not provide baby
cribs. We recommend you bring your own preferred. |

Due
to liability concerns we have not installed a child's play
area. We do however have a sufficiently large yard. |

We
do not provide baby sitting service. There are day care services
listed in the local phone directory |

you allow pets? |
Sorry, no. Only seeing-eye dogs are permitted as a handicap
consideration. |

about fire safety? |
Each
unit is equipped with smoke detector and fire extinguisher.
The 2nd floor suites have two exits for quick evacuation. |

We are a non-smoking facility. Smoking is permitted on outdoor
decks or grounds. |

However there is a public laundromat close by in Union Pier,

Our facility was originally built to house only 6 separate
living quarters with private entrances. There are no large
common spaces for large groups together. However, we have
found large groups have been happy to join picnic tables together
for great outdoor cooking events. |

For a full "super market" service Barney's in New Buffalo
is 3 miles South, downtown - just before traffic light. |

about not finding enough to "do". It's okay to just do nothing.
In fact, we'll give you permission. There's no need to make
anymore demands of yourself. Give yourself the rest you need
